Avoiding scams for new renters

New renters are on the rise as Pocatello grows larger each year. But Real Property Management is letting renters know what to watch out for.

The rental agency says to make sure you’ve thoroughly and never agree to rent a place without going inside of it first.

“”Make sure you see the place first. If I’m a renter, make sure you go in and see the place first. You want to know what you’re getting into. Pictures can look good, anyone can make a picture look good. So always see it. You want to go in and see what it smells like. You can’t smell a place by a picture. So you need to go in and check it out first,” says Garret Durrant, Manager of Real Property Management.

Durrant also says to watch out for rental scams on sites like Zillow and Craig’s List.
