ISU president says school will stay affordable
In his annual State of the University address, Idaho State University President Arthur Vailas applauded the school for its commitment to remaining affordable.
“We now have the lowest tuition of any of the research universities in Idaho,” Vailas said.
Tuition at ISU rose just 3.3 percent in the current school year – the lowest increase in 27 years.
Vailas also said the school was committed to avoiding any new debt.
He said the money that would have gone to interest payments is instead being reinvested in the school, pointing to $11 million in improvements over the last two years.
