“Controlled” access situation at Century High School ended
Update: The “controlled” access situation at Century High School has ended. The threat was traced back to being just a rumor. School leaders say it is being dealt with through appropriate channels.
Original story: School leadership in Pocatello have confirmed that Century High School is currently under a “controlled” access situation because of an anonymous threat made against the school.
Shelley Allen, public information spokeswoman for the Pocatello/Chubbuck School district, confirms that the school is under controlled access, meaning people may only enter through the front doors of the school and must show ID.
The controlled access was put in place after the school received an anonymous threat at around 10:20 a.m. The Pocatello Police department is investigating the legitimacy of the threat.
Allen says the “controlled” access will continue until the police finish their investigation.
