Business donates $2,000 to help build homes for disabled veterans

An Idaho Falls business is helping to build homes for disabled veterans.

Carpet One has teamed up with the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation buy donating $2,000 to help build 46 custom smart homes for amputee veterans across America.

The homes help vets restore their independence and improve their quality of life.

Retired New York firefighter Ralph Tufano was there for Wednesday’s donation. He says these homes do a lot for disabled vets.

“Being, you know disabled by the war, by losing limbs, they can’t get around like they used to before the war. So what we’re doing, we’re building a home so they can function as a normal human being and normally raise their children and feel like they’re not a burden to their family,” he said.

If you would like to help out with this cause, you can stop by Carpet One at 405 W. 17th Street in Idaho Falls to make a donation.
