Fire crews put out Old Town apartment house fire

Pocatello fire engines and police cars crowded West Bonneville Street Tuesday night, after a fire started in the attic of an apartment house.

The fire started around 10 p.m., in the apartment house’s attic, according to firefighters on the scene. A hole in the roof vented the fire.

Firefighters fed a hose through the hole to put out the fire. After putting it out, they’re now checking to see if the fire breached into any other part of the house. They also are making sure to get valuable belongings out.

Assistant chief Mike Williams said crews are likely to be working the fire scene until 3 or 4 a.m.

Firefighters said all the tenants got out safely.
