Thanksgiving Travel: Tips for keeping you safe

Trip Advisor released a new survey that shows 40 percent of people are traveling for Thanksgiving.

With the high amount of travelers, it’s important to remember tips and tricks to stay safe.

For those of you traveling on the roads, here are three resources you can check out.

1) Idaho Transportation Department: the website has these webcamsthat show the conditions of the roads, as well as updates on traffic.

2) Apps such as Google Maps update you with updates on traffic back ups and if any accidents happen on the road.

3) Idaho Transportation Department also allows you to call 5-1-1 and download their app here

If you’re traveling by plane, some of these resources might be useful for you.

1) Check-in ahead of time- if you can to avoid taking up any more time at the airport.

2) If you’re going to larger airports such as Salt Lake City International Airport, check out the TSA wait time app to know what you’re getting into here

3) Most importantly, be prepared for a longer than usual wait time at most airports in the area.
