BBB offers advice to avoid online sales scams

It’s that time of the year we’re all looking for the best deals. It’s also a prime time for scammers. The Better Business Bureau wants shoppers to be on the lookout for online scams.

This year the BBB reported that there have been more than 8,900 scams reported in the United States this year with 381 of those scams in Idaho.

Samantha Gillihan with the BBB said that some of those online deals are just to good to be true.

“I had a friend who bought an iPhone online and it was twenty dollars and when he got it it was not an iPhone. It was definitely not an iPhone.

“So we tell people anytime you feel suspicious about something, anytime something seems to go to be true, those are the types of things to look out for and it’s just best to avoid,” said Gillihan.

If you or someone you know has been a victim of an online scam you can report it to the BBB at this website.
