Idaho Falls Walmart responds to threat

Idaho Falls emergency services personnel were called to Walmart on Utah Avenue Friday after the store received a recorded bomb threat. Police were called to the store at approximately 2:45 p.m.

Officers swept through the store and found no sign of any actual device.

Following established protocol, there was no evacuation of the building. Dogs were not brought in to search the store because the store was so crowded it would have made it difficult for them to pick up a scent.

The search of the store has been concluded. An investigation into the origins of the threat are continuing.
