Preventing Frozen Pipes
Cold weather can lead to frozen pipes, and that can be a pricey mess if they break.
However, there are ways to prevent it.
Kip Salas, the co-owner of Advanced Plumbing and Rooting, recommends using something to wrap and protect your pipes.
“There is a product that you wrap around the pipe, that heats up the pipe,we call it heat tape. And then you can put some insulation over the top of that too, and that will warm up the pipe, thaw it out, and also keep it from freezing.”
He also said if you have a water hose outside, make sure you have disconnected it from your house faucet, and to make sure your pipes are not exposed to the elements.
