Fireworks blamed for apartment complex fire
The Idaho Falls Fire Department believes illegal fireworks caused a fire at an apartment house at 601 John Adams Court at around midnight Sunday.
According to fire department reports, three engines, three ambulances, a Battalion Chief and a safety officer found flames showing through the roof of the complex when they arrived at the scene.
A neighbor noticed the flames, called 911 and notified the residents of the apartment, who were asleep at the time. Firemen said if it weren’t for that quick action, the fire could have burned without notice.
Damage was limited to around $500.
Firemen said multiple illegal aerial fireworks were found on the roof.
