Brush fire burning west of Arco
UPDATE 1:30 p.m. : Fire managers now estimate the Timbered Dome fire has burned 2100 acres. They said the wind has been pushing the fire back and forth. The fire is roughly 20 percent contained and they estimate it will be contained by 8 p.m. July 9th.
There have been no injuries or structures threatened.
UPDATE: As of 10:02 a.m Tuesday morning Timbered Dome Fire is burning 1500 acres. Bureau of Land Management officials tell us the fire is human caused, further investigation is underway. The fire is threatening critical sage grouse habitat
Original Story: Fire crews are working on extinguishing a brush fire west of Arco Monday evening.
The fire is being called the Timbered Dome Fire.
They are estimating it has burned around 250 acres.
It was reported to the Butte County Sheriff’s office at about 5:30 p.m. Monday.
No other information has been released.
