Woman arrested for grand theft after stealing debit card from purse

Idaho Falls Police arrested 23-year-old Afton Purser for grand theft for stealing and using a debit card.

Purser of Idaho Falls was booked into the Bonneville County Jail on Saturday.

According to reports, a resident reported his wife’s debit card had been stolen from Winco on July 13 after she forgot her purse in the store. She retrieved her her purse from Purser, a store employee shortly after discovering she’d forgotten it.

The woman and her husband realized later her debit card had been stolen from the purse and used to make online purchases at Yandy and Victoria’s Secret.

Purser was observed on the store’s surveillance footage taking the debit card.
