Development Workshop celebrates 45 years of service

A recent survey found the unemployment rate for people with intellectual disabilities is twice as high when compared to the general population.

The Development Workshop Program is working to change that by offering vocational training and life skills to people who have disabilities or special needs.

Jessica Weinrich with Development Workshop Program said over 520 people were served by the Development Workshop this past year and 154 were placed into jobs.

“We help with individuals with varying abilities achieve their dreams. We help them become successful with not only life skills but also vocational skills,” Weinrich said.
