Forecast for FEB 28th, 2017

Our storm system is slowly moving out for Tuesday. Expect a very windy day with gusts up to 45 mph. We’ll look for scattered snow showers and gusty winds. Northwest flow will remain throughout the week keeping a chance for a few flakes at times but sunshine should also peek out at times after Wednesday. Tuesday, falling snow totals will be smaller with most places seeing only an additional inch or two, but winds will increase to about 20-25 mph with gusts around 35 mph. Blowing snow will become a concern, especially along mountain passes. Daytime highs topping out in the 20’s with a few spots making it into the low 30’s. Wednesday, skies will start to clear up with some sunshine and snow showers mainly sticking to the ID/WY state line. Winds out of the northwest will keep temperatures cool and mean that blowing snow will still be a problem in a few spots. Daytime highs in the 20’s and low 30’s. Thursday, A 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 35°. Friday, sunny with slightly warmer temps. Daytime highs in the Snake River Plain will hit the upper 30’s.
