Winds will begin to pick up as a cold front moves in for Friday evening and the weekend. A Wind Advisory has already been issued for Friday afternoon for much of the Snake River Plain. FLOOD WARNINGS and FLOOD WATCHES remain in effect for several of our area waterways especially across Central Idaho due to the rapid snowmelt from the mountains. Continue to monitor the situation if you live near a river or stream. Also, the Henry’s Fork near Rexburg is expected to reach flood stage by Friday. Friday, Partly to mostly cloudy with a 40% percent chance of showers and thunderstorms late in the day and overnight, especially over Central Idaho. Highs into the mid 70’s. Windy with gusts possibly exceeding 45mph. Tonight, passing showers and an isolated thunderstorm possible with gusty winds up to 40mph. Lows near 40°. Chance of rain 40%. Saturday, Partly sunny with some morning showers and afternoon thunderstorms. Highs into the 50’s for the Snake River Plain. Brisk winds at 15-35mph. Sunday, cool and sunny for the Plain. Highs into the upper 50’s and lower 60’s.

Monday, A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a high near 60°.
