Madison County burn ban in place for next two weeks
The Madison Fire Department and Board of County Commissioners of Madison County declared a temporary open fire ban effective August 14.
This ban means no outside fires will be allowed anywhere in Madison County with the exception of “recreational fires” as defined in the International Fire Code and a couple other special exceptions as outlined in the temporary burn ban ordinance.
Madison Fire Department officials said they’ll post the official ordinance once it is signed.
Violations of this temporary burn ban will be considered a misdemeanor and carry a $100-$300 fine.
This temporary ban will be in place until August 28, 2017.
