More than 5,000 people expected for Back 2 School Giveaway

The director of the 11th annual Back 2 School Giveaway in Pocatello said he expects more than 5,000 people to show up.

The event will be held at the Mountain View Event Center off of Olympus Drive in Pocatello on August 19th. While the event starts at 10 a.m. and runs until 1p.m., the director of the event said people start lining up the night before.

The purpose of the event is to bring together as many resources as possible for family members to utilize before school starts back up.

Families will have the chance to pick up school supplies, clothes and visit with doctors and dentists.

“Businesses have donated to meet the need, individuals have donated and sacrificed to help that need and everybody is going to come together and take those donations and all those resources and hand those back out to whoever needs it,” commented Joshua Robinson, the Back 2 School event Director.

Robinson said while you do not need your kids while you stand in line prior to the event, once the event starts, your kids need to be present order to pick up school supplies.
