Custer & Lemhi County air quality alert issued
The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality has issued an air quality forecast and caution for Custer and Lemhi Counties. According to the warning, air quality is currently “unhealthy” for sensitive groups and is forecast to range from moderate to unhealthy. Under that category, people in sensitive groups might experience health effects, but the general public is not likely to be affected. Sensitive groups include those with heart and lung disease, older adults, and children. Affected people are advised to avoid prolonged heavy exertion and stay indoors. Everyone else should limit prolonged or heavy exertion and limit their time outdoors. All outdoor burning is prohibited by the Idaho DEQ in accordance with state pollution rules.
