Utah authorities find human remains along river bank
A family discovered the remains of a female while driving an off-road vehicle near the Utah-Arizona border.
The Spectrum reported on Monday the remains were found along the Virgin River about 1 mile north of the border with Arizona. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has not identified the remains or determined a cause of death. Lt. David Crouse said the body was in an advanced state of decomposition.
Investigators and the Utah Medical Examiner’s Office are working to compare the body with any missing people.
The body is the second human remains found in Southern Utah in less than a week.
