Bank of Idaho donates to CEI

The Bank of Idaho made a big donation toward education Thursday.

The bank donated more than $12,000 to the College of Eastern Idaho.

The money establishes the college’s first scholarship endowment fund with the CEI Foundation.

The money was raised through the bank’s first annual “Swing for the Green” golf tournament, which took place in June.

College administrators are excited about the bank’s investment in higher education.

“It’s great of the bank to recognize how important education is to the Idaho Falls area,” Rick Aman, president of the College of Eastern Idaho, said. “This is a way to demonstrate that. So it’s one thing to say that it is important and it’s another to contribute to students in a way the Bank of Idaho has done. So we’re very excited about that.”

The bank’s golf tournament will be an annual event to raise money for higher education.
