Idaho Falls man sentenced for sexually abusing child
A 37-year-old Idaho Falls man convicted of sexually abusing a child for five years has been sentenced to a minimum of 40 years in prison.
A jury found William Ellwood guilty of seven counts of lewd conduct with a child and one count of sexual abuse by making an electronic recording on Tuesday.
The county prosecutor read the 15-year-old victim’s statement to the court, saying she wakes up everyday “feeling angry, frightened and scared.”
A judge sentenced him to serve between 10 and 40 consecutive years for each of the seven counts.
He will also serve up to 25 years for the abuse conviction.
