Jackson authorities investigate bomb threat

UPDATE 1:40 p.m.

Classwork resumed at Jackson Hole Middle School at 11:15 a.m. after law enforcement swept the building and students’ backpacks.

An active investigation of the threat is underway.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A Joint Incident Command is investigating a bomb threat against Jackson Hole Middle School late Tuesday evening. An alert to parents and staff delayed the start of classes by two hours Wednesday morning.

Early Wednesday, the Jackson Police Department, Teton County Sheriff’s Office, Teton County Bomb Squad, and the Lander Police Department and K-9 bomb dog swept the Teton County School District Middle School.

No devices were found. The building was determined to be safe and school operations will resumed at 11:15 a.m., according to the school district.

Parents were notified at approximately 6:15 a.m. through the “School Messenger” e-mail, phone and text system. All other district schools are on normal schedules.

All other TCSD schools remain on normal schedules.

Investigation of the incident is underway.
