St. Patrick’s day snow possible

An area of low pressure continues its march onshore towards southern Idaho and northern Nevada for this weekend. We’re expecting to see scattered snow and rain showers with gusty winds. Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories have been posted for the Idaho central Mountains and Snake Highlands. In Island Park we could see snow accumulations of 3 to 8 inches. Central Idaho mountains could be in the 5-12″ range.

Saturday: Snake River Plain communities will see rain and snow showers. Some thunder is also possible. Cloudy, with a high near 40°. Northeast wind 15 to 25 mph. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Sunday: A 30% chance of snow showers. A high near 40° for Idaho Falls 45° for Pocatello. South wind 10 to 20 mph.

Monday: A 20% chance of snow, mostly cloudy, with a high near 40°.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a highs into the mid to lower 40’s.
