Two Eaglets born with one on the way

A closely watched island cam off the coast of California is catching several births of our national bird.

Two bald eagles were born this week on Santa Cruz island, and a third is expected to hatch at any minute.

The eagles were born about 14 hours apart and appear to be healthy.

since disappearing in the 1960’s, bald eagle populations have been making a comeback, thanks to recovery efforts.

The park says there are currently an estimated 50 to 60 living on the islands with 13 active nests.

You can tune in to watch those nests on their live-cam.

It’s available anytime on the institute for wildlife studies webpage.
