K9 officer joins Blackfoot Police

The Blackfoot Police Department has welcomed a new addition.

Ryder, a 5-year-old German Shepher/Belgian Malinois was purchased by the department last year. He and K9 Cpl. Braswell completed 10 weeks of advanced training.

The K9 officer is trained to apprehend suspects, protect his handler, track suspects, and detect a variety of illegal narcotics.
