Sisters making Easter baskets for local kids
Two sisters want to make sure every kid gets an Easter basket.
“35 boys baskets out and 19 girls baskets out so far,” says Kayla Shields.
Kayla Shields and Ciera Bracknell have a room full of candy, toys and stuffed animals to make Easter baskets.
“For families that don’t have money to buy their kids baskets or just can’t do it this year,” says Shields.
Her sister saw what she was doing and decided to help out.
“I just decided to jump in and help,” says Bracknell.
Shields says she was surprised by the number of donations.
“I didn’t think there were so many people in the world that were willing to help other moms that are struggling or other dads that are struggling”
They both say it’s a good feeling to help the community.
“Just knowing that you can make one kid happy and give him or her the blessings of God. It just touches my heart,” says Bracknell.
“I’ve struggled before and I know how it feels and I’m glad to be able to do this,” says Shields.
