One injured in I-15 crash

UPDATE 3/27/18 9:00 a.m.: Idaho State Police responded to a one-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 15 near milepost 90, in Blackfoot around 3:38 p.m. Monday.

ISP reports Gilberto J Ahuatzi, 21, of Fort Hall, was driving southbound in a 2005 Nissan Maxima when he struck the guardrail on the left shoulder over the Blackfoot Canal, spun out and came to rest in the left lane. Airbags were deployed and Ahuatzi was wearing a seatbelt.

An ambulance transported him to Portneuf Medical Center for further evaluation.

The southbound left lane of I-15 was blocked for an hour.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

UPDATE 4:50 p.m. Idaho State Police reports all lanes are open.
