Fall River coop to mark 80th anniversary

Bonneville Power Administrator (BPA) Elliot Mainzer will be on hand Saturday, June 16 for the annual summer business meeting of the Fall River Electric Cooperative.

Mainzer is expected to outline projected power generation estimates and rate projections.

BPA is a non-profit federal agency that markets carbon-free power throughout the Pacific Northwest. Fall River gets most of its wholesale power from the agency. The agency also operates most of the high-voltage power grid across the region.

During the annual meeting, Fall River Board members will serve breakfast to members at Teton High School in Driggs, beginning at 8 a.m.

The coop is marking its 80th anniversary of service to around 14,000 customers Teton Valley, Island Park, West Yellowstone, and portions of Fremont, Madison, and Jefferson counties. Owner-members will also finalize the election of three board members from a field of 11 candidates.

Fall River Electric Cooperative’s CEO/General Manager Bryan Case said, “Our annual meeting is an opportunity for members of our Co-op to become better acquainted with the services and business aspects of the business that they own. I hope as many members as possible will take some time out of their Saturday morning to join us.”
