Legacy Flight Museum slates free air show

Rexburg’s Legacy Flight Museum will stage a free air show at the Rexburg Airport Saturday.

The event will feature a display of fully restored warbirds, aerobatics, and pyrotechnics.

“We’re going to have a fabulous air show here,” said Ole Yeller Pilot, John Bagley. “It’s free to the public. We’ve got lots of aerobatic pilots coming in and we got lots of warbirds coming in. It’s going to be really cool.”

Some of the planes that will be flying at the show include a Bell P-63A King Cobra, which has a top airspeed of 410 miles per hour. The P-63 was an American fighter developed during World War II, but never accepted for combat by the Army Air Force. A pyrotechnic display will also be part of the show, produced by Firewalkers International.

The air show opens at 9 a.m. on Saturday with free parking available near the airport. Street vendors will be on site for those who would who like to purchase food and souvenirs.
