Idaho Falls Rescue Mission thrift store closes

Closing a store doesn’t seem like something a growing company would do, but for the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission, it’s just the beginning of growth.

In the past, the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission used the revenue of both the North Holmes and Park Avenue thrift stores to support the city’s homeless population.

But now the North Holmes location is closing to make room for more projects.

The non-profit is trying to improve the ministry to better serve the homeless.

“We have a plan over the next three years to open up several new areas of social enterprise as part of our rebirth. And all of those are in the planning stages right now,” said Amanda Chaplin, Idaho Falls Rescue Mission.

Closing the North Holmes thrift store will not affect the homeless population because they’re keeping the Park Avenue location open.
