Idaho Falls Power GM to resign
Idaho Falls Power General Manager Jackie Flowers has just announced she will be resigning at the end of July.
This comes after she accepted a position as the Director of Tacoma Public Utilities in Washington state starting in August.
Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper said she represented several board positions throughout the community.
“Ms. Flowers’ tenure here at the city was one of great accomplishment and our city is a better place for her years of service,” Casper said. “She will be missed by many throughout the community.”
Since serving as the Idaho Falls Power G.M. in 2006, she has led several major projects, including the dredging of sedimentation at the upper plant as well as the advanced metering infrastructure upgrade.
In a letter, Flowers wrote: “It has been my privilege to work with the talented team at Idaho Falls Power as we have together served the citizens of Idaho Falls. You have a very talented, dedicated team of professionals…who take great pride in their work and in the fact that they continue the legacy of electric service to our community.”
Mayor Casper is expected to nominate her replacement before the City Council approves her recommendation at the next meeting.
