Keeping kids safe at the fair
While you are having family fun at the fair be sure to keep an eye on your little ones.
Going in with a plan is a good start.
“There is a lot of people so if you have the conversation with your kid prior to getting to the fair about what happens if they do get lost. Then when you get to the fair if you could show them the nearest Safe Kids booths or security office or even point out an officer with the word “Police” on his back,” says Sgt. Ray Hermosillo, fair security.
If your kid does get lost:
“Come to the security booth or the ‘Safe Kids’ and report their child being lost. It’s also important for the parents to know and remember what their kid is wearing so it’s easier for the officers who are walking around to pick the kid out of a crowd or be able to find them,” says Sgt. Hermosillo.
The fair has a lost child booth near the Maple Street gate entrance. There are police officers and sheriffs deputies also patrolling all over the fairgrounds.
