UPDATE: Child reunited with parents
UPDATE 5 P.M. Idaho Falls Police say the incident is an accident.
The child slipped out when an adult came home to change for a night shift.
Police knocked on doors in the area where the child was found, but did not find the family.
They then turned the child over to Child Protective Services.
They say they received a call around 7 a.m. from the parents looking for the child.
IFPD says the family has been reunited.
They say the original identification of parents by the child were incorrect.
UPDATE: 4:15 P.M. Idaho Falls Police say they know who the parents of the child are but still do not know where they are.
ORIGINAL STORY
Idaho Falls Police report a child, approximately four to five years of age, was found near Auto Zone at 695 E 17th in Idaho Falls Tuesday around 3:54 a.m.
The caller told police they found the child without adult supervision.
Officers arrived and tried to find the family but were unable.
The child was placed in the care of Child Protective Services.
