Indian Creek Fire now 100 percent contained
UPDATE 9/20/18 6:00 p.m. The Bureau of Land Management reports the Indian Butte Fire is 100 percent contained.
It reached full containment as of 5 p.m. Thursday.
The Forest Closure remains in place.
The public is allowed to travel on Pleasant Valley Road through Kite Canyon and White Pine Canyon area until the intersection of FS 479 road and FS 323 road as FS 323 heads south into the closure area (shown on map below).
Stoddard Creek Campground is open.
Firefighters are still working on the fire and will most likely continue mopping up remaining heat in the interior of the burned area and backhauling equipment through the weekend.
The public may still see smoke as firefighters work to call the fire controlled and out.

UPDATE: 9/20/18 8:35 a.m. The Indian Butte Fire about 8 miles northwest of Dubois has burned about 13,072 acres and is reported at 98 percent containment. It is expected to be fully contained on Thursday. Some closures remain in effect and visitors should check with the forest before venturing into the area.
Firefighters were able to preserve dispersed camping sites along the Patelzick Creek Road. Much of the area is still closed because firefighters are working in the area.
UPDATE 9/13/18 3:00 p.m. The Eastern Idaho Interagency Fire Center estimated the Indian Butte Fire, 9 miles northwest of Dubois, at 7,251 aces Thursday afternoon.
The fire started at around 7 p.m. Wednesday on private land and burned actively in sage and brush onto Bureau of Land Management and Forest Service land.
Firefighters said the fire was threatening structures on two ranches located about one-third of a mile northeast of the fire. Also threatened were RV campers in dispersed camping sites on BLM and forest land northwest of Spencer.
A large contingent of firefighters, including 8 engines, 2 dozers, 1 fuel tender, 1 hand crew, 1 water tenders, 1 air attack and 5 overhead aircraft were assigned to the fire. All crews were working to establish fire line. There is no estimated containment at this time.

UPDATE 9/13/18 10:00 a.m. The Bureau of Land Management reports the Indian Creek Butte Fire has grown to approximately 5,000 acres.
The fire is active and running, and there still is no estimated containment.
Two ranches located one third mile northeast of the fire and several campers are threatened.
No evacuations are in place, and there are no closures.
The cause is still under investigation.

UPDATE 9/12/18 9:50 p.m. The Indian Creek Butte Fire burning nine miles northwest of Dubois has grown to around 300 acres and was zero percent contained as of Wednesday night.
The Bureau of Land Management reports the fire started on private land but the exact cause is under investigation.
Five engines, one dozer, and one hand crew from BLM have responded along with crews from the Central Fire District.
There are currently no structures threatened and no evacuations have been ordered.
ORIGINAL STORY:
The Bureau of Land Management is responding to a wildfire 10 miles west of Spencer.
It is sending 4 engines, a dozer and additional resources have been ordered. Clark County fire resources are already on scene. The Central Fire District is also sending crews to assist.
The fire is estimated at 100 acres, the cause is under investigation.
No other information has been released at this time.
