Wyoming man gets prison after killing family dog in front of 3 children
A Wyoming man who violated the terms of his probationary sentence for killing the family dog in front of three children in 2014 has been sentenced to up to three years in prison.
Prosecutors in Cheyenne say 34-year-old Jason C. Wenner was arrested in June for violating his probation by having contact with a victim. He pleaded guilty in August.
KGAB-AM reports Wenner was sentenced Friday to 18 months to three years in prison.
Wenner was arrested in November 2014 after pushing a child and later hitting a small dog with a wooden stool while three children watched. The dog died the next day.
He was sentenced to probation in 2015 after pleading guilty to child abuse and animal cruelty charges.
