ICCU gives NeighborWorks Pocatello a big boost

The annual “Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge” kicked off Wednesday.

The statewide challenge puts 55 not-for-profit Idaho businesses up against one another to see who can raise the most funds in an effort to prevent homelessness and improve affordable housing.

For the sixth consecutive year, Idaho Central Credit Union gave NeighborWorks Pocatello a big boost on day one, cutting a $5,000 check for the Pocatello group.

“We’re just so grateful for that long-lasting partnership,” NeighborWorks executive director Mark Dahlquist explained. “And they always contribute early on and get us off to a great start.”

Currently, the group is in second place in regards to funds raised, at $10,350, and first place in the number of donors with 47.

The group raised over $25,000 last year with the goal of going even higher this year.

The challenge runs from Wednesday through December 31st.
