Sugar Salem harriers make donation

The Sugar-Salem Cross Country team presented a $1,500 check to the Family Crisis Center in Rexburg.

The team organized two public fundraising runs, “To Bone and Back” and the Upper Valley “Turkey Trot 5K”. The team members lock in sponsors to offset the costs and provide prizes for participants.

Money raised helps athletes pay for state competitions in Boise. This year, the Sugar Salem Boys took second place in the Bob Firman Invitational and the Girls took first. Both boys and girls took first place in the 3A State Tournament in Lewiston.

The balance went to the Crisis Center, which provides help to children, women, and families that are going though physically and mentally abusive situations.
