Man charged with Army Surplus Store break-in
An Oregon man is in custody after he was caught inside the Army Surplus Store on Daisy Lane in Bonneville County.
Deputies were called at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday by a store employee, who could hear someone inside the building.
The front doors had been broken open and deputies could also hear someone yelling and breaking things inside the building.
Officers contacted James Summers III, 46, near the front of the store and took him into custody without incident.
Summers told Deputies he had used marijuana and methamphetamine and thought that people were after him. Officers searched, but found no one else inside the building.
Store employees said Summers caused about $5,000 in damage to merchandise that was destroyed inside the building.
Summers was charged with burglary and felony malicious injury to property as well as misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held in the Bonneville County Jail.
