Local Heroes honored for their life-saving service

The Idaho Falls Fire Department is hosting their Annual Awards Ceremony. The celebration of this years anniversary will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Colonial Theater, 450 “A” Street in Idaho Falls. The IFFD will be recapping on the successful year and honoring selected community members who contributed to this success. The event is free and invites the public to join them in honoring our local heroes. The event will lead with a remark from Mayor, Rebecca Casper followed by the Fire Department recognizing the Emergency Medical Services Provider and Firefighter of the Year. The awards ceremony will then credit new hires, promotions, a Citizen Award, and Business Partner Awards. Two local individuals will be announced and presented with a Life-Saving Awards. One of the Life-Saving Award will go to Tom Stickley who performed CPR at a local athletic club. Courtney Kelsch will also receive the Life-Saving Award for responding to a call from a PulsePoint App notification. Both of these individuals will be recognized for responding to an emergency response both resulting in positive patient outcomes. The Ceremony will conclude with a video giving tribute to the Idaho Falls Fire Department to appraise their unity and their accomplishments for the past year.
