Man arrested for burglaryand possession of stolenproperty and drug paraphernalia
Bonneville County Sheriff’s deputies investigated a report of at least two vehicles that had been burglarized overnight at a business on S. Doug Andrus Dr. Tuesday.
Tools and miscellaneous items had been reported taken in the burglary along with registration paperwork indicating the addresses of the victims.
A short while after the initial report was taken, one of the victims contacted a deputy reporting he located the suspect vehicle near his neighborhood stuck in the snow at the Elk’s Lodge on E. Elva in Idaho Falls.
A deputy responded and made contact with the driver of the vehicle identifying him as 36-year-old Rawdy A. Bauer of Iona.
The deputy could see property inside Bauer’s vehicle that matched the description of what was taken in both burglaries.
While interviewing Bauer, he admitted to the deputy the property was stolen and that he burglarized two vehicles to get it.
Bauer told the deputy he usually sells the stolen items to pay for drugs or trades the items for drugs from his dealer. He also admitted to smoking methamphetamine just prior to the deputy’s arrival using a drug pipe found in his vehicle.
Bauer was placed under arrest and transported to the Bonneville County Jail where he was booked for two counts of burglary, two counts of possession of stolen property and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
