Investigation into local charter schools

The Blackfoot Charter Community Learning Center and Bingham Academy are being investigated for allegations of financial mismanagement. The state charter school commission was in town Thursday asking questions.

This investigation comes after past and current trustees came forward in regards to a lack of transparency regarding school finances which began back in December.

The Idaho Public Charter School Commission is looking into unexplained checks as well as inappropriately addressed allegations of sexual misconduct by school employees.

So far, it is not a criminal investigation, but it could affect the school’s renewal status in the next three years.
