The latest road closures

UPDATE 5:20 p.m. The Idaho Department of Transportation reports SH-32 is now open from Ashton to Tetonia.

UPDATE 2:30 p.m. The Idaho Department of Transportation reports US 20 from INL to Idaho Falls, US 20 from Ashton to MT state line, and ID-87 from the state line to US 20 junction is now open.

UPDATE 2/14/19 11:55 a.m. ID-33 reopening from Newdale to Tetonia.

U.S. Highway 26/89/191 between Moose Junction and Moran Junction is now open. Snow removal equipment will be operating on the highway in conjunction with Law Enforcement. The highway is still snow packed and slick so drivers are advised to use caution, drive slowly, and be on the lookout for snow removal equipment.

UPDATE 9:00 p.m.: Interstate 15 is open, but now Highway 20 west of Idaho Falls is closed due to blowing and drifting snow.

HWY 20 CLOSED, Between US 26 (19 miles east of the Butte City area) and Cinder Butte Road (3 miles west of the Idaho Falls area). The road is closed. Look out for drifting snow on the roadway. Driving conditions are hazardous.

UPDATE 6:00 p.m. US 20/26/93 closed from Carey to Arco due to heavy blowing and drifting snow. Many of Idaho’s rural highways are facing similar conditions.

UPDATE 4:30 p.m. ID-36 is now closed in both directions 3 miles west of Weston (between 1600 South Road and 7200 West Road) due to a crash involving a tractor-trailer.

UPDATE 2:45 p.m. Northbound I-15 is closed from milepost 16 to milepost 27, Malad City to Downey. ITD reports there are warnings of white-out conditions. Traffic is being moved off the interstate at milepost 13 and will not be allowed to travel northbound until the road conditions improve. Motorist will have to remain in Malad or re-route southbound.

ID-47 closing from mp 1-12, from Ashton north to Warm River.

Due to the additional snowfall, current weather and road conditions, START Bus has announced there will be a slight adjustment to the Teton Valley commuter bus schedule for this Wednesday. The regularly scheduled #30 Teton Valley commuter bus will be departing at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday. This bus typically departs at 7:30 p.m.; however, due to current weather conditions this bus will be departing earlier than normal.

UPDATE 2/13/19 10:00 a.m.: US 20 from Ashton to the Montana border through Island Park is closed.

Due to the wind, SH 33 is closed from Newdale, milepost 107 to Tetonia, milepost 131. No estimated time for reopening.

The Idaho Department of Transportation reports SH 32 is closed from milepost 0 to milepost 28.3, Ashton to Tetonia due to blowing and drifting snow and zero visibility.

SH 34 is also closed from milepost 70 to milepost 113.6. The closure area is from 10 miles north of Soda Springs to the Wyoming State Line.

ISP reports SH87 from US20 to Reynolds Pass is also closed.

UPDATE 5:30 p.m. U.S. Highway 26/89/191 between Moose Junction and Moran Junction continues to be closed due to limited visibility and drifting snow in locations along that route. The forecast includes continued high winds, and the closure is expected to last through the night. For updates, please call the park’s road information line at 307-739-3682.

UPDATE 2:00 p.m. The Idaho Department of Transportation reports US 20 from Carey, milepost 205.47 to Arco, milepost 248 is closed.

UPDATE 12:45 p.m. Idaho State Police reports I-15 from Dubois to Montana line is now officially open.

UPDATE 11:00 a.m.: The Idaho Department of Transportation reports SH33 is closed due to reduced visibility.

The closure is from Newdale, milepost 107 to Tetonia, milepost 131.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office reports the road may open later Monday night.

ITD also reports ID 32 is closed between the start of ID 32 (near Tetonia) and ID 47 (near Ashton).

The Montana Department of Transportation has extended the I-15 closure. It is now closed between Dubois and Dillon, Montana.

The Idaho Transportation Department has closed I-15 from Dubois at milepost 167, to the Montana border at milepost 196. The Montana Department of Transportation has closed I-15 from the Idaho border to Lima.

The Idaho State Police said the interstate is closed because of high winds, blowing snow and low visibility.

There is no estimated time when the interstate will reopen.

Idaho 32 is closed between Ashton and Tetonia because of weather. It unknown when it will reopen.
