Pocatello Free Clinic receives grant for cancer detection procedures

Hope Rides non-profit organization in association with Pink Ribbon international donated $5,000 to the Pocatello Free Clinic. A check presentation was held this afternoon.

Money donated is going towards ultrasounds and imaging for early breast cancer detection, procedures that can’t be performed within the free clinic.

The free clinic’s patient base is majority women between the ages of 45 to 60. “I don’t even know if I can find the word to describe it. Christina Potts, executive director of the Pocatello Free Clinic said. “We’re so thankful to be able to provide these services to these women.”

Victoria Byrd, Hope Rides executive director, is dedicated towards breast cancer awareness through her Pink Ribbon bike tour. However, it’s helping organizations like the Pocatello Free Clinic she says is her payout. “Seeing all of our hard work payoffs and getting to help women in our area and families that need extra support,” Byrd says.

The Pocatello Free Clinic plans to move into their new facility on April 1st.
