Local blind girl shows the world through her eyes

A local girl is not letting her disability get in the way to inspire a more positive outlook on life to others. Faith Neibert is 20 years old and grew up in Idaho Falls. She was born blind from lack of oxygen in the womb. She is one of the few to be able to attend a public school with her condition. Neibert graduated from Skyline High School last year and is now looking into opportunities to teach others. She says being born blind gives her a different perspective of the world and wants to share her view from her eyes. Faith Neibert said “I’ve been very lucky. The best blessing of being blind is being able to see people for who they are and not for what they look like. I just see them as people. I can’t make everybody blind for a day but I can share my perspective and that’s what I would love to do.” Faith will back in Idaho Falls in two weeks. She is currently learning to get around independently at the training center for the blind and visually impaired in Boise. Neibert will be meeting with us to share a little bit more on how we can find the beauty within our selves and others through her eyes.
