District 93 board members asks for students input about possible bond
Bonneville School District 93 Board of Trustees held a work session at Hillcrest High School on Wednesday. But it was not just for board members and the administration. The Hillcrest Knights Student Council stopped by to show off this past year’s achievements.
Student Council members talked about fundraisers, school dances, bonding trips and other activities.
When their presentation was over, board members asked the students their thoughts about the proposal for a new bond. This bond could include new science classrooms, an expanded cafeteria and a more centralized point of entry.
“We all thought it would be really good to have the front of the school to facing towards the school so we could see the title of Hillcrest High School as you’re driving past it,” said Davis Weatherston, a senior. “It would also centralize the office so not only could you check in more people as they’re coming through, control the flow people that you know are in your school.”
Students also had questions about the timing of construction if it happens. Board members said it would happen during the school year, but construction would not disrupt classes.
