Safety concerns drive Victor offices to new quarters

Victor City Hall is moving. Because of safety concerns, including the firewalls separating shop areas from office and public service areas, most city offices will be relocating to Unit 101 at 10 South Main Street.

The move, including administrative offices and utility payments, the clerk, treasurer, administration, planning, and engineering departments will begin the move April 11 through April 15. During that time city operations will be closed.

Residents can reach help for water or sewer emergencies by calling the city’s emergency phone line at 208-399-2155.

The building’s safety concerns also include permanent wiring, ceiling, ventilation, means of egress, and ADA accessibility as determined by the city’s building inspector and Fire Marshal.

“We’d like to thank the community for its support of this office relocation and for its patience while we complete the move,” said Mayor Jeff Potter. “We’ll open our doors as quickly as possible at the new City Hall in the Victor Crossroads Building at the corner of Main and Center.”

Victor will continue to hold its evening City Council and Planning and Zoning Commission meetings in the Council Chambers at City Hall at 32 Elm Street. Safety concerns are not as serious in that portion of the building.
