Chukars lose fourth straight as comeback falls short

The nine game winning streak to start the season seems like ancient history after the Idaho Falls Chukars fall to the Missoula Osprey 8-5 Friday extending the season long four game losing streak.

Missoula (11-9) busted the game open in the top of the third inning with seven runs. It started when Carson Maxwell scored all the way from second base on a David Sanchez sacrifice fly. Dominic Canzone added a two RBI triple in the inning.

The Chukars (13-5) would rally late scoring three runs in the sixth thanks in part to a two run single by Michael Emodi. Idaho Falls would add two more runs in the seventh inning to cut the deficit to 8-5.

The tying run would come to the plate for the Chukars in the bottom of the ninth, but the rally would fall short. Tyler Poulin (1-1) got the win for Missoula. Stephen Ridings (2-1) got the loss.

Idaho Falls will now head to Great Falls for a weekend series with the Voyagers starting Saturday.
