Ammon man arrested on drug charges

An Ammon man is in custody on felony drug charges after an encounter with Idaho Falls Police Sunday.

Officers were called to the 400 block of First Street after someone reported they saw a man in a vehicle give a gun to another man, who was on foot. Two people exited the vehicle when police approached.

The driver was identified as Tyler Baldwin, 26, of Ammon. Police said Baldwin was on parole and violated terms of his parole.

A Bonneville County K-9 Deputy conducted a free-air search of the vehicle and indicated there were narcotics in the car. A search revealed a total of 10.7 grams of bagged heroin and 1.1 grams of methamphetamine in the vehicle.

Baldwin was arrested for felony drug trafficking, felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.
