Delinquent Teton County taxpayers running out of time

The Teton County Treasurer’s Office in Jackson is making a last-ditch effort to reach property owners with outstanding tax bills.

2018 bills hit the annual Property Tax Lien sale next Wednesday, August 7.

According to the Treasurer’s Office, property owners have been notified of delinquent tax bills, but there are still outstanding balances for 39 parcels. Payments on the outstanding balances can be made up until Tuesday, August 6.

“It can be difficult to track down individual owners or ownership entities when it comes to delinquent property taxes, so we want to make sure that we get the word out as much as possible prior to the annual Property Tax Lien Sale every year,” said Katie Smits, Teton County Treasurer. “Ideally, property owners can remedy the situation prior to a third party purchasing the tax lien for the parcel.”

A current list of delinquent parcels is available here.

The legal notice list of properties has been published for the past three weeks.
