Demand high despite firework shortage

POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI) - A nationwide shortage of fireworks didn't stop sales throughout the region.

Monday ends the season for legal sales of fireworks in Idaho.

Many of the local firework vendors say they had a limited amount of fireworks for sale due to supply chain problems out of China, but despite the price increases from last year, sales were up.

TNT fireworks tells us helping people celebrate was a labor of love.

"This year has been a very successful year. It's fun," Armando Orozco said. "We’re out here for 10 days and it's hot and it's in the sun, but we enjoy it, because you know we love america and we love the freedom. So, it's been a huge success and we're glad to be able to help people celebrate their freedom with some fireworks."

Vendors say they expect supply to bounce back next year.
